Team Quality Assurance Methodology

The DRT SeaPort-e Team follows the belief that quality is a result of diligent planning. We develop and deliver Quality Management Plans that include a clear Scope Statement based on the Statement of Work, Product Descriptions, and Standards and Regulations provided by the client.

We utilize best of breed tools and techniques empowering teams to make informed decisions and promote collaboration.

We leverage methodologies and best practices such as Cost/Benefit Analysis, Benchmarking, Flowcharting, Design of Experiments, and Cost of Quality report generation to establish practical standards that can be consistently applied and sustained beyond the contract lifecycle.

Operating decisions regarding pricing, terms and conditions, and asset management have the most direct and significant impact on the financial health of an organization. Above and beyond being held accountable for achieving technical and schedule goals, The DRT SeaPort-e Team managers establish and provide oversight for meeting profitability and other financial goals. Program tracking and status reports are created and generated based on internal client needs utilizing best practices, tools, and techniques within the industry.

Quality Control Team
Task Order Project Manager (TOPM)
For each Task Order (TO), DRT assigns a single TOPM that is chartered to identify, acquire, and apply the resources necessary to fulfill project requirements. Key duties include project planning, staffing, work scheduling, cost and performance monitoring, reporting and communication, and problem-solving.

Quality Manager
The DRT Quality Manager is responsible for assisting TOPMs with implementing the appropriate level of procedures and controls for ensuring the quality and timeliness of the services and deliverables. The Quality Manager is responsible for developing a central repository of quality management material and tools, and subsequently maintaining an up-to-date inventory of each subcontractor teammate’s quality management assets as well as a skills inventory for qualified team personnel. Responsibilities include:

-Consolidate quality management policies and procedures, checklists, tools, etc.
-Support the planning and implementation of quality control and methods.
-Participate in bi-annual conference call with quality reps from each subcontractor teammate to discuss industry advancements, trends and evolving customer requirements.
-Offer availability, on a billable basis, to perform peer reviews, quality monitoring, quality audits, and client mentoring, as requested by TO clients.

          Quality Control Procedures
Quality control and assurance measures are built into every project from the start of the Task Order. The Project Director and the TOPM for each project develop an Acceptance Criteria Plan (ACP) that identifies and defines acceptance criteria for all deliverables. The Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP), which focuses on responsiveness and timeliness, cost control and containment, and written product quality, is an input into the process. The TOPM then develops a quality management plan in response to the requirements, and then the team implements the resulting plan to apply planned, systematic quality assurance activities.

          Managing Multiple Projects
To be successful in managing multiple projects for multiple agencies, DRT utilizes three key approaches: 1) specifically managing time effectively; 2) leveraging group skills or dynamics; 3)and using individual project management skills to successfully deliver multiple projects. Within these approaches are key techniques DRT has developed and applied to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously:

-Time Management – DRT project managers have the skill and training to determine what to do, when, and how much time is needed.
-Project Prioritization – DRT regularly assesses the tasks that need to be accomplished across multiple projects and then prioritizes the order of task execution and completion. DRT analyzes what is needed to ensure that each project meets DRT’s strategic objectives.
-Project Progress – In order for a project to be successful, progress must be made. DRT management ensures that each project is making needed progress on a daily basis, and implements problem-solving solutions if the project is not meeting expected goals and deadlines.
-Dashboard – DRT management regularly uses digital dashboards to effectively capture and report on all their assigned projects.
