DRT Showcases Workforce Automation and RPA Expertise with Wins at USDA’s Bot-A-Thon Technology Competition

DRT innovated and submitted three Robotic Process Automation (RPA) “bots” that automate and amplify workforce productivity to the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) first annual Bot-A-Thon challenge.  DRT’s RPA solutions, built using UiPath, solve real-world, mission-critical problems, winning five out of six categories, including Best Mission Impact, Best Workforce Impact, and Best Intelligence. 

Arlington, VA – September 20, 2021 – DRT Strategies, Inc. (DRT), an award-winning technology innovator and leading digital transformation partner to federal agencies for nearly 20 years, announced today that the company achieved wins in five out of six categories in the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) first annual Bot-A-Thon technology challenge.  The objective of USDA’s Bot-A-Thon technology challenge was to identify and solve challenges faced by USDA’s customers, workforce, and mission by utilizing intelligent automation.

DRT technology teams supported by DRT’s Idea Lab™ and mentors from USDA and UiPath, designed, built, and submitted three working Robotic Process Automation (RPA) “bots” that dramatically automate and amplify workforce productivity and efficiency.  Specifically, DRT’s winning RPA bots demonstrated the following outcomes:

  • Reporting Bot (Winner: Best Mission Impact, Best Collaboration): Automated previously manual weekly reports to be completed and issued agency-wide:  Savings of 16,744 human work hours per year, totaling an annual savings of $435,344
  • Onboarding Bot (Winner: Best Workforce Impact, Best Reusability): Automated previously manual updating of agency’s Onboarding tracker with 2,400 packages per year: Reduced time by 90% and minimized data entry and data entry errors
  • Chatbot (Winner: Best Intelligence, Best Workforce Impact): Increased accuracy of SAFe information management, standardized information and terminology, increased team productivity, and improved knowledge transfer
